Reviewed 26 July 2026. Clothing sizes such as 80 cm, 90 cm or an age range are starting points—not identical measurements across every garment. The most reliable home check is to compare the current size chart with a similar garment that already fits.
Flat-lay comparison method
- Choose a similar garment that fits the child now.
- Fasten it and lay it flat on a level surface without stretching.
- Measure in centimetres with a flexible tape.
- Compare the same points with the Hae Hae product chart.
- Allow for the child’s growth and the intended fit, but do not assume that looser is always safer for sleepwear.
Useful garment measurements
| Garment | Measurements to compare |
|---|---|
| Long-sleeve top | Chest width, body length and sleeve length |
| Short-sleeve top | Chest width, body length and sleeve length |
| Trousers or shorts | Relaxed waist, stretched waist, rise, hip width and outseam |
| Romper or sleepsuit | Chest width, shoulder-to-crotch length, sleeve and leg length |
| Sleep sack | Neck opening, arm opening, chest width and full length |
Measure the same way every time
Keep seams relaxed and record to the nearest 0.5 cm. Do not stretch the fabric except when intentionally recording a stretched waist or opening. Product measurements are garment measurements, not a child’s body measurements.
How Hae Hae will add verified measurements
Hae Hae is measuring one finished production garment per unique construction and production size. Verified tables will be added to the relevant product pages after the method is checked. Until then, use the current product-specific size chart and contact Hae Hae if two sizes appear equally suitable.
See the current size charts, browse kids’ pyjamas or read the care guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 100 cm garment exactly 100 cm long?
Not necessarily. A numeric size label identifies a size range; it is not automatically the finished garment length.
Should I compare body measurements or clothing measurements?
Use the type stated by the size chart. When using a flat-lay garment chart, compare it with a similar garment measured in the same way.
Should I size up for longer wear?
Do not size up automatically. Consider the product chart, intended fit and garment type. Neck and arm openings on baby sleep products must remain secure.
