Important: a pillow should not be placed in an infant’s sleep space. Singapore’s HealthHub safe-sleep guidance says pillows and other soft objects should be kept out of a baby’s sleep area. The American Academy of Pediatrics likewise recommends a firm, flat surface without pillows or soft bedding for infants.

When is a pillow appropriate?

There is no need to rush. Consider a pillow only after your child has moved beyond infant safe-sleep recommendations and can use one safely in their current sleep setting. Age alone is not the only factor. If you are unsure—especially if your child has breathing, mobility, developmental or sleep concerns—ask their healthcare professional.

How to compare a kids’ pillow

  • Size: choose a pillow proportionate to the child and the bed rather than an adult-sized pillow by default.
  • Height and firmness: look for a comfortable, stable profile; avoid an excessively high or very soft pillow.
  • Condition: replace a damaged or misshapen pillow and keep the sleep area free of loose or broken components.
  • Care: follow the washing and drying instructions for both the case and insert.
  • Individual needs: seek medical advice for persistent snoring, breathing pauses, pain or other sleep concerns rather than trying to treat them with a pillow.

Hae Hae kids’ pillow materials

Hae Hae pillowcases use the brand’s main fabric composition of 95% bamboo and 5% spandex. Filled pillow products use microfibre fill as stated on the relevant product page. Products are sewn by Hae Hae’s own team at its owned Batam manufacturing facility.

Every component used—including fabric, sewing thread, microfibre fill and size label, where applicable—was OEKO-TEX® certified when Hae Hae purchased it. Certification means the certified components were tested under the applicable standard; it is not a medical, allergy or safe-sleep certification.
